"Sunday School" for this new millenium must be purposeful, focused and missional. Because communities and society are ever changing, the methodology we use to communicate timeless truths must evolve to be effective. At Hixson First Baptist, we vigilantly strive to communicate contemporary relevance of Scripture within the context of its never changing message..
We have discovered that life stage organization helps adults mature in their relationship with Christ, no matter where they are in the discipleship journey. In order to accomplish that we desire the opportunities to be:
College students benefit from a group that emphasizes the needs specific to their circumstance. Whether it's preparation for a vocation, a spouse, or a world filled with dizzying challenges, our collegiate Bible study group is seeking the right answers in the right place.
"20 Somethings" defines an emerging influence in the the third millenium. We provide a unique enrichment environment that includes single adults and newly marrieds.
The challenges and opportunities facing 20 Somethings extend beyond marital status as they experience career launches, financial responsibilities, and integrity decisions that will effect them for the 50+ years. Coming together to search God's Word offers the strong potential of a strong foundation for their adult journey.
Young Married Groups offer a mix of Bible study options for young couples seeking to firmly embrace Biblical guidelines for their growing families and developing careers. Classes are Co-ed
Crafted to service the worship leaders and instrumentalists, this class offers instruction and real-world application of God's Word for the busy church musician.
Median adults with tweenagers and teenagers have a refuge and an opportunity at Hixson First. Parenting and coping skills are best learned from the Word of God. Two co-ed groups are available.
Adults experiencing family with older teenagers and young adults at home benefit by a Bible study that responds to the unique needs and demands of encouraging older children. Classes are co-ed.
Median adult women who are currently single will experience a nurturing and caring Bible study group. A variety of study options provide pertinent, practical teaching that will be uplifting and enriching.
Three co-ed study groups offer mature adults the opportunity to fellowship, study together, and minister with others who are realizing the new emotions of a home without children.
Often, mature adult women need a Bible study environment where fellowship and ministry can encourage them in their role within the home.
Adults entering the retirement stage of life benefit from the experiences of others, studying together, and discovering new ways to lead productive lives. Each group maintains an intentional caring ministry to members and guests in addition to Christ centered leisure activities. We provide one co-ed group, 2 ladies groups and 1 men's group.
Experienced retirees continue to be vital and vibrant. In addition to a careful devotion to God's Word, fellowship and ministry opportunities exemplify their legacy of faithfulness.
