Myron Wilkins

Senior Pastor

Myron began his ministry as Senior Pastor of Hixson First Baptist Church in December 2009. Myron comes to HFBC with more than 25 years of ministry leadership experience. Before coming to HFBC, Myron served as a pastor, missionary, traveling preacher and ministry executive throughout North America. A native of Philadelphia, PA, Myron is a graduate of both West Chester University and Temple University. He has also studied at Philadelphia College of Bible. Possessing the heart of a pastor and a passion for preaching Myron shares his ministry with his wonderful wife Anna and their three fantastic sons, Jeremy, Jo-El and Jaron.

Terry Shannon

Minister of Music and Senior Adults

Terry has been on staff at HFBC since 1984 as Minister of Music and Senior Adults. He and his wife, Darlene, recently celebrated their 25th year of ministry at HFBC. Terry and Darlene are natives to the Chattanooga area. Terry has been leading worship in churches for 39 years. Before that, he played the piano for church for several years beginning at the age of thirteen. Terry graduated from Florida Baptist College where he received his degree in Church Music. Sharing Christ, leading in worship and providing opportunities for others to share their God given talents for the Lord are the desires of his heart. Terry and Darlene have been married for forty years and have a son, Tyler, and a daughter, Carrie.

Jeremy Purvis

Student Pastor

Jeremy joined the staff here at Hixson First Baptist in February of 2008. He grew up in Baton Rouge, Louisiana and received a Bachelor of Arts at Louisiana College in 2004, and then he received a Master of Arts in Christian Education from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary of Fort Worth, Texas in 2007. Before coming to Hixson, Jeremy served in churches in Louisiana and Texas. Jeremy provides leadership and direction for the student ministry, grades 6th-12th, and has a passion for students to live a life that personifies 1 Timothy 4:12. Jeremy is married to Sarah, and they just celebrated the birth of their daughter Kendra Nicole, born 5/14/09.
